Communities
Of
Praise
It is our desire to offer something back to the brave men and women whom work unselfishly though the entire year including the holiday seasons, protecting and serving the people in the communities they work in. The goal of C.O.P. would be to extend a warm thank you equally to those who protect and serve us. The hope of this would be to get as many companies and sponsors together as possible to raise funds and donations for all of the officers that protect our fine city. From cookies to cars there is no donation to big or too small, nothing would go unappreciated.
The first annual donation was held in January of 2007. In no way is this a religious based organization. Instead it is our goal to thank every officer of our community at a time of year when most would more assureably rather be home with their own families, but work diligently for those who are faceless.
No officer would go un-rewarded. All officers would receive equal praise(with the exception of larger single gifts to be given away in a selection process that has yet to be decided upon) .
The C.O. P. program is being started in the city of Galveston, TX. However, The program will not be limited to Galveston alone. Depending on how the public responds to this program it will expand to cover Galveston County as a whole, the state of Texas and maybe even the entire United States. Every time the program expands, every officers that works within that region of expansion, upon proper approval, will be included in the program and it’s awards. It is our hopes that not only will the C.O. P. program extend across the country but can eventually become a non-profit organization, making it easier for some companies and individuals to donate to the cause.
The C.O. P. organization is proudly supported by Roth Enterprises.

Who gets awarded?

I want to be as fair as I can in awarding any special presents or gifts to officers. In order to do this the most logical and fair thing I can think to do is.............remove me from the decision process. Instead if there is an officer to be awarded from the Galveston Police Department........than the officers of the Galveston Police Department can hold a vote to determine whom they think is the most deserving officer from that department. Same thing goes for all other departments involved, the officers of those departments will choose the officer they feel is most deserving of an award.
If you can think of a more fair and unbiased way to determine these officers I will be glad to listen!
